With a larger stage, an official Friday night and more glamping, Steelhouse Festival 2023 edition is already building towards a bigger weekend. Throw in the news that Black Stone Cherry, Elegant Weapons, featuring Richie Faulkner and Ronnie Romero, Kris Barras and Airbourne have significant slots, and then the festival with the best views becomes mouthwateringly exciting.
“When the UK calls, we come running,” said Sunday headliners Black Stone Cherry. “And this time, we’ve been summoned to the Hilltop in Wales to headline this year’s Steelhouse festival! We’ve always heard excellent things about this festival, venue, and the vibe that comes along with it and we can’t wait to make our debut performance there this summer.”
The band are currently in the UK touring with The Darkness, and in a recent MetalTalk interview, they told us about their love of the UK. “It’s incredible what we’ve been able to build over here,” Ben Wells said, “and it’s exciting to see what we can continue to build over here.”

Watching the band live is phenomenal and seeing that passion live on stage is something special. “I think over here, more than anywhere we’ve ever been,” Chris Robertson says, “the crowds are here for more than just a concert. It’s a part of who they are, it’s a part of life, and people can tell when what’s coming off the stage is genuine or not.”
Elegant Weapons
The Sunday special guest slot is filled by Elegant Weapons, making their first UK appearance. The band is led by Richie Faulkner, bolstered and emboldened by the regal presence of Ronnie Romero, Uriah Heep’s Davey Rimmer on bass and Accept drummer Christopher Williams.
“When Richie announced the formation of Elegant Weapons and revealed the personnel involved, it was pretty obvious this would be a top-grade outfit,” Steelhouse organisers Max and Mikey said. “Having heard the sheer power and quality of the material they’re about to unleash, we know they’ll shake the Steelhouse Mountain hard!”
With more announcements still to be made, the confirmed artists so far include Friday headliners Kris Barras, Saturday night headliners Airbourne, plus The Answer, Blues Pills, Florence Black, The Vintage Caravan, The Damn Truth, Austin Gold, Kira Mac, Empyre, The Cruel Knives and Jordan Red.
When Rivers Meet and The Karma Effect are both now confirmed to play Friday, and Dead Man’s Whiskey will be opening proceedings on Saturday.
Steelhouse Festival will be held over the weekend of 28-30 July 2023. Tickets are available from https://www.steelhousefestival.com/tickets.
