Seven Sisters will release their new album Shadow Of A Fallen Star Part 1 on 22 October 2021 and will head out on a five-date album launch party with Toledo Steel, whose Heading For The Fire album is released on the same day.
Seven Sisters have released the second song from the album, Shadow Of A Fallen Star. “I had this phrase shadow of a fallen star in my head,” Kyle McNeill said, reflecting on the songs beggings, “that fit the ending of what became the chorus.
“I liked the atmosphere it conjured, and, ultimately, it shaped the rest of the album. Both the grandiose scale of the album’s setting, thematically, but also the more solemn and isolated nature of what we’ve all experienced in this weird time in history.”
The video, directed by Mind Art Visual, captures the fantastic atmosphere of the song. Reminiscent of Empire-era Queensrÿche, Seven Sisters navigate shifting dynamics, anthemic choruses, two guitar solos, a twin lead section, tempo and key changes all within a neat 4-minute package while adding new dimensions to their already well-established sound.
The first song released was Horizon’s Eye. In an earlier interview, Kyle told MetalTalk how it was “a real relief to be releasing music again. That feeling is only amplified by everything that’s been happening.
“The process of writing, recording and releasing this record spanned the length of lockdown. If nothing else, we have something to remind us of these weird times.”
