Porcupine Tree / Film Announced Of Their Triumphant Return

Porcupine Tree will release Closure/Continuation. Live on 8 December 2023. Filmed at Amsterdam’s 17,000-capacity Ziggo Dome, the tour marked a triumphant return to the stage of a band on hiatus since 2010.

“What we witnessed tonight was almost three hours of some of the most beautiful songs ever written, performed by a band at the very top of their game.” This was what MetalTalk wrote of the OVO Wembley Arena show.

Porcupine Tree played their biggest-ever headline show at London’s Royal Albert Hall in 2010, topping a career that spanned an excess of twenty years and ten studio albums. It was their last show for quite some time.

Steven Wilson covered the Royal Albert Hall gig at the start of his wonderful autobiography, Limited Edition Of One. He states that at that point in Porcupine Tree’s career, they were burnt out.

Released in June 2023, Closure/Continuation gained appreciation around the globe. Their eleventh album reached No. 2 in the UK album chart, No. 1 in Germany and was Top 10 all across Europe.

A subsequent tour crossed four continents and played to over 150,000 people. Each night saw two sets that featured, to use Steven Wilson’s words, “no hits. This tour saw the band sell out arenas throughout North America and Europe and play their first-ever show in Chile.

Closure/Continuation. Live, featuring Steven Wilson (vocals, guitars, keyboards), Richard Barbieri (keyboards, synthesizers) and Gavin Harrison (drums), is available to pre-order from here.
