Planet Fatale / A hurricane of modern hard rock and Metal

Planet Fatale will release their album The Cycle Repeats on 17 September 2021 and have today released their first single, Talking To Myself. The band has also announced a ten date tour starting in Hitchin in September.

The Cycle Repeats marks Planet Fatale’s first full album, following two singles and a live EP released under the name Powderhead.

In a Phoenix-like rise from the flames of the late, great Powderhead, reborn Cambridge Metallers Planet Fatale are back and kicking up a bigger storm than ever. The band have upped the ante and brought out this rampaging rocker that has all the grit of their previous incarnation but with a heavier and wilder edge.

Talking To Myself is shot through with a snarling ‘take no crap’ attitude and touches on Iron Maiden styled charges and guitarwork but throws in some old school Pantera thrash into the mix. Led by the Valkyrie vocals of Hels Johnson, Planet Fatale will be stomping over your face and tearing roofs off all over the country as this hurricane of modern hard rock and Metal reach for the skies.

Hels told MetalTalk, “We are so excited to release this track – it has an absolutely killer riff and strong lyrical theme. It’s gonna be a lot of fun to play live! The song is about battling with your inner critic, that inner voice that likes to put you down.

“We had a great time shooting the video for this one! There are two versions of me, a stand off in the desert and a quest, with a nice little surprise at the end too, but I don’t want to give too much away before you’ve seen it!

“Marianne Harris has perfectly captured the vibe we were after visually.”

Ten date tour

The Planet Fatale tour starts in Hitchin this September and covers ten dates closing in Ipswich in November.

The band told us, “We are absolutely bursting to get back out on the road, so expect us to be hitting the stage with all we’ve got on this tour. It’s gonna be one hell of a ride! After two singles and a live EP, this album is our biggest and heaviest release to date, perfectly captured by producer Russ Russell, and it rocks!

“We just can’t wait to release it and show the world what we’ve got! Each track has its own personality. We’ve got some proper moshers in there, which we’re really gonna heavy up live, along with some killer riffs just oozing with groove and more bluesy numbers.

“It’s been a journey, and we look forward to sharing it with our fans in our favourite place on earth – the live stage! Welcome to the Planet.”

The album has been produced by Russ Russell (Napalm Death, The Wildhearts, Raging Speedhorn) and can be pre-ordered from
