Perfect Beasts – A Supergroup Of Musical Beasts Team Up For Highly Anticipated New Album

“Perfect Beasts are a four-piece rock band who have taken the collective knowledge of human musical history and distilled it down into banging anthems that you can sing along to and still stroke your beard (or someone else’s), trying to figure out the technical amazingness of the musicianship.”

Words: Sara Harding and Ben Roberts

When we, at MetalTalk HQ, heard about this brand new beast emerging from four music legends, we were excited to dig deep into their man cave to find out more. While we may not have a ‘beard’, ahem, to stroke as mentioned above, we are huge fans of these four beasts of rock music who have teamed up to create the perfect monster of an album.

Perfect Beasts

Introducing – Perfect Beasts

With John Mitchell on vocals and guitars, Darren Redick on bass, Nick Andrew playing guitars and guitar synths and Steve Hales on drums, their musical pedigree is vast.

“Within the dark depths of musical creativity lies a four-headed musical monster,” the band says. “This Perfect Beast is an evolutionary cocktail of rock, prog, jazz and classical, but have no fear. This album features adventurous, memorable songs, emotive, primal vocals and never-before-heard guitar sounds.”

We have had the privilege of hearing a taster of what is to be unleashed, and it is going to be a monster of sound.  Every track tells a story, every riff has claws, and every melody cuts deep.

Darren Redick, our favourite Planet Rock host and great friend, says, “The hard work of nurturing and rearing the songs, recording, mixing and mastering has been done, but this is the final stage.”

To launch a new project these days needs massive funding, so the band have reached out to us, the fans, media and socials as they need our help.

Their MO is simple and is a clever call to arms.

“By backing us, you’re not just supporting an album,” the Perfect Beasts said, “you’re joining the pack, giving voice to a beast that refuses to be tamed. Together, we can unleash the Perfect Beast into the world.

“We need your help to feed the monster of album and promotion costs. The funding will go towards the CD/vinyl production, artwork, merchandise and promotion. You can be part of a special animal and be rewarded. You can become a Perfect Beast.”

Please share, spread the word and bring your friends. They don’t bite! So meet the Beasts:

John Mitchell – Vocals

John is an accomplished guitarist, singer and producer, having been a member of the bands: It Bites, Arena, Frost*, Kino, A, The Urbane, and Asia, as well as the mastermind behind Lonely Robot.

He has produced albums for the likes of Alterbridge, Enter Shikari, You Me At Six, Lower Than Atlantis, Architects, and Funeral For A Friend.

Nick Andrew – Guitars And Guitar Synths

Nick has established a formidable reputation as a virtuoso guitarist, midi guitar pioneer and composer. He has supported artists as diverse as Midge Ure, John Williams (classical guitarist), Guthrie Govan and Napalm Death.

Performing under the name Nickjitsu, he also works as a producer and composer for many artists, including rising star Leoni Jane Kennedy.

Steve Hales – Drums

Steve is a versatile drummer, keyboard player and lyricist. Hailing from the Southampton megalopolis, he is a well-known member of the music scene there, often performing with Kepler Ten and R2 – A Tribute to Rush.

Darren Redick – Bass

Darren is probably best known for his association with the UK’s national classic rock radio station, Planet Rock, rather than for his bass playing.

However, he has been playing with bands around the Southern Counties since 2015, including Asylum Affair and The Lee Aaron Band. He has also performed with Rush tributes (on Songs For Neil, Vol 2&3) along with numerous other artists, including the late Bernie Marsden, Grand Slam and many others.

The Perfect Beasts will be out on the road soon to support the new album drop, and we will be there to donate, kickstart, buy the merch and rock out and as the band say

“From the bottom of our Beastly Hearts, we thank you,” the band said. “We will see you at a venue near you soon.”

We cannot wait for the Perfect Beasts to be unleashed. You can help the Perfect Beasts at Kickstarter here.
