MetalTalk Magazine Issue 2, November 2021

MetalTalk Issue No.2 is now available. In issue 2, we cover live reviews of our friends in Inglorious, Steve Hackett, Cats In Space, and the Foo Fighters from across the pond, tearing up Connecticut.

There’s been high drama too from our cover star, Richie Faulkner, who hit the headlines at MetalTalk twice this year. Once as the star of our massive weekend coverage of Bloodstock, where Judas Priest kicked off their 50th-anniversary tour.

Then again, this month, with the terrifying news of Richie’s aortic rupture while playing the Painkiller solo (and not missing a note!) at the Louder Than Life festival in Louisville, Kentucky.

Now stable and recuperating at home, we wish Richie, now actually partly “made of Metal,” a speedy recovery and send our best wishes to him and his family.

In this edition, I am also excited to introduce a broad range of unique features and interviews, from classic artists Toby Jepson, Doro, and Tracii Guns, to up and coming stars Bokassa, James Kennedy and Whitechapel.

Furthermore, MetalTalk’s bassist in residence, Chris Dale, remembers his extraordinary trip to Sarajevo in 1994 with Skunkworks which led to the award-winning documentary film Scream For Me Sarajevo.

We didn’t forget the reviews, though! With so much new music released this year, how could we? Starting with the big one, Iron Maiden’s Senjutsu, one of the most highly anticipated and well-received albums of the year, we also explore Tremonti, Sodom, Joanne Shaw Taylor, George Lynch and many more.
