For the first time since 2017, Dropkick Murphys and Rancid will tour together in a co-headling event. The Boston To Berkeley II tour runs from August to October, and support on most dates is from The Bronx.
Originally planned for May 2020, the tour also takes in festival appearances at Riot Fest in Chicago on September 18 and Aftershock in Sacramento on October 8.
“We are looking forward to hitting the road with the Dropkick Murphys again for the second edition of our Boston To Berkeley Tour,” Rancid’s Tim Armstrong says. “Our good buddies, The Bronx, will be joining us on tour as well. See ya in the pit.”
“We can’t wait to get back out there and kick the touring door open again,” Dropkick Murphys’ Ken Casey says. “This is a great lineup, and we are gonna take the country by storm.”
Rancid have been delivering their fantastic punk rock for over 25 years. Formed in 1991, they signed to Epitaph Records and released their self-titled debut in 1993. Their most recent album, Trouble Maker, was released in 2017.
Dropkick Murphys are Boston’s rock ‘n’ roll underdogs, turned champions. Formed in 1996, their discography includes four consecutive Billboard top ten album debuts, while 2005’s gold-selling The Warrior’s Code featured the near double-platinum classic I’m Shipping Up To Boston.
The tour promises to be something special, with Dropkick Murphys or Rancid alternating as the closing act. Tickets are on sale now from dropkickmurphys.com and rancidrancid.com
