In less than two weeks, Dream Theater will be in Southeast Asia, visiting Indonesia and Singapore. This will be the first time the classic lineup, with Mike Portnoy on drums, will perform in Indonesia. Previously, the band have visited Indonesia five times, performing a total of six shows, all with Mike Mangini on drums.
“Celebrating 40 years is one of those head-scratching moments,” John Petrucci told MetalTalk in an interview prior to the 40th Anniversary shows with a returning Portnoy. “Like, how did that happen? But it’s fun because we got our new old drummer. It’s exciting with Mike back. The sort of setlist that we could do… It’s an evening with Dream Theater, so we’ll have plenty of time to play a lot of songs. It will be exciting.”
Dream Theater will perform on 7 February 2026 in Jakarta at Beach City International Stadium, Ancol. In Singapore, Dream Theater play The Star Theatre first on 3 February 3, 2026. The Jakarta concert will be promoted by Rajawali Indonesia, led by Anas Alimi, while the Singapore concert will be promoted by LAMC Presents, led by Ross Knudson.
These shows are part of their 40th Anniversary tour, which has been running since October 2024 and will begin its Asia and Australia leg at the end of January.
As the tour title suggests, Dream Theater will focus on the classics, such as songs from the albums Scene From A Memory and Images And Words, with the possibility of two songs from their new album, Parasomnia, released in February 2025.
For diehard Dream Theater fans in Indonesia, this concert is highly anticipated, as it features the return of the classic lineup with Mike Portnoy on drums. Indonesia has one of Dream Theater’s largest fan bases. Their six shows in Indonesia have always been packed, and four of those shows were promoted by Rajawali Indonesia. This February marks Dream Theater’s fifth show for Rajawali Indonesia.
Rajawali Indonesia will also host a performance by rock legend Bryan Adams on 3 February 2026. This will be Bryan Adams’ third appearance in Jakarta, Indonesia, following shows in 1994 and 2017.
Following Dream Theater, LAMC Presents will feature Lacuna Coil on 9 February, The Darkness on 11 March, and Marty Friedman on 14 April. There will be some rocking months for these two neighbouring countries.
For fans of Dream Theater, progressive rock and Metal in Jakarta, Indonesia, or Singapore, get ready. Two cities will be captivated by the magical, high-level skills and precision of Dream Theater.
