Veteran rocker Danny Peyronel is back with a new solo album, It Happens When You Look The Other Way, released through DPX2 Recordings. A fixture of the Golden Age of Rock, Peyronel first made his name as a founder member of London cult heroes Heavy Metal Kids, a band who became a touchstone for the emerging punk movement. He then joined UFO as their original keyboard player, helping to steer the band into a new era with his songwriting.
Outside of his own bands, Peyronel has quietly racked up an impressive list of songwriting credits. He penned Midnight At The Lost And Found for Meat Loaf, a track that became a multi million seller, and has written for the likes of David Gilmour, Sade and more.
The 1980s saw him step up to the microphone as frontman for his own band Tarzen, while the 1990s brought collaborations with hit maker Desmond Child, known for his work with Bon Jovi, Aerosmith and Alice Cooper.
In more recent years, Peyronel has released the solo album Make The Monkey Dance and reunited Heavy Metal Kids for their acclaimed swansong Hit The Right Button. He also formed X UFO, who issued a powerful live set, Vol. 1: The Live Files, followed by the studio album House Of X.
Now based in Barcelona, Peyronel recorded It Happens When You Look The Other Way with guitarist, producer and video creator David Pereira Oleart. The new band features Pereira Oleart on guitar alongside young guitar prodigy Martin Buszano, Lakis Economou from the Malcolm Bruce Band on bass and Javi Rojano Reina of Amaro on drums.
Together they bring Peyronel’s classic songcraft into sharp, modern focus across a generous tracklist that runs from the punchy title track and Heavens In A Chevy Tonight to the widescreen drama of The Last Goodbye.
With plans to tour Europe and the Americas and a string of videos already online, It Happens When You Look The Other Way finds Danny Peyronel drawing on a lifetime in Heavy Rock while proving he still has plenty of new stories to tell.
