With a recent sold-out Australian tour successfully buried, Cradle Of Filth has shared the new single Malignant Perfection today. Along with a suitably eerie video, the new song is perfectly haunting for the season of Halloween. “We’re gonna be playing that on the tour, ” Dani Filth told MetalTalk as the band gears up for the European leg of the By Order Of The Dragon tour.

The video was directed by the imitable Vicente Cordero and features the creative masterstrokes of one Missy Munster. “It is a playground of seductive darkness rife with malicious monsters and cryptid creations,” Dani says, “all vying voraciously for the viewer’s eternal soul.”
The tour kicks off in Bristol this Sunday, rolling through a special Halloween evening at O2 Forum Kentish Town, closing after ten dates in Newcastle on 8 November.
Dani told Georgia Brittain that there was a quick break from touring down under before it will be back on the road again. “We’ve been touring most of the year,” he said, “and now just getting back into the Autumnal splendour of getting to see friends, hanging out with my girlfriend, watching videos and shit like that. Working as well. But we’re off again, so really excited about it.”
If Cradle Of Filth might have wanted a slightly longer break, they are not showing it. Dani can’t wait to get back out on the road again. “It’s gonna be great,” he says of the By Order Of The Dragon Tour. “It’s not themed around a new album, ‘cos that doesn’t come out until April. The Order Of The Dragon is our fan club and it’s been like that since ’96.
“So it [the tour] kind of represents an amalgam of our whole back catalogue. So we play old, really old stuff, the very new single [Malignant Perfection] and everything in between. Or most things, not everything in between. We would be there for like four days [laughs]. But it is a good celebration of everything that is Cradle Of Filth’s back canon.”

By Order Of The Dragon Tour tickets, which are available from here, are selling fast. Joining the purveyors of pandemonium for UK and Irish shenanigans will be Butcher Babies, High Parasite, and hot newcomers Black Satellite. Mental Cruelty will take over for High Parasite on the European leg.
