Blind Channel / Prepare for the Finnish Metal Invasion

On of the most promising Finnish Metal exports, Blind Channel, have today released the single ‘Gun’ via the Ranka Kustannus label. Taken from their third album, ‘Violent Pop’, the track has been mixed by the Dane Jacob Hansen. Hansen is the man behind the sound of Volbeat and Amaranthe.

Featuring the talents of Niko Vilhelm (vocals), Joel Hokka (vocals, guitars) Joonas Porko (guitars, backing vocals), Olli Matela (bass) and Tommi Lalli (drums), Blind Channel came together in 2013 inspired by a mutual love of Enter Shikari, 30 Seconds to Mars and the early works of Linkin Park.

The single, ‘Gun’, is true to their style, featuring a Heavy Metal sound, peppered with pop elements. But the dual vocals work together well and the track is certainly aggressive in delivery.

The band told MetalTalk: “‘Gun’ is a song about using music as our weapon. We write songs to cope with dark times and to get back at our critics. When we wrote ‘Gun’ we decided we wouldn’t hold back our words anymore. It’s all point-and-shoot from now on”.

Having built their reputation as an electrifingly energetic live band with festival appearances under their belts at Wacken, Sziget Festival and Weekend Festival, their mission is for us to be prepared for their Finnish Metal Invasion.
