Anthrax, Black Label Society And Exodus announce 2023 North American Tour

Fresh from Summer 2022 dates at Download, Anthrax and Black Label Society have announced a 24-date tour of North America for January/February. Joining as special guests are North California Thrash Metal gods Exodus, who shone on the Bloodstock stage this summer.

“We are so pumped to be hitting the road again with Black Label Society,” Anthrax said. “We had such a great time when we toured with them earlier this year that we had talked about doing it again when we were still on the road together. And having the guys from Exodus on the bill as special guests will definitely make this a tour not to miss.”

Anthrax recently completed their UK 40th Anniversary tour. MetalTalk were at the penultimate night to witness a sold-out venue, a rabid audience and, along with Municipal Waste and Sworn Enemy, three bands all intent on bringing the noise.

“With Slayer in retirement and Metallica cardigan-clad luvvies, it’s down to Megadeth and Anthrax to keep the Big Four’s flag flying,” MetalTalk’s Paul Hutchings said. “And with due respect to Mr Mustaine, it’s the New York quintet who still excite most in the live setting. The crown of Thrash Metal sits with Anthrax. For All Kings!!”

This summer, Zakk Wylde’s doom trooping crew were back in the UK to play two London shows in the run-up to their performance at Download festival. MetalTalk’s Kahmel Farahani covered the first show, which was a thunderous celebration of Heavy Metal.

“Anthrax is one of the bestest legendary Metal/Thrash bands of all time,” Zakk Wylde said. “I have been buds with Scotty, Charlie, Frankie and Joey for over 3O years, and they are some of the bestest people you will meet. Jon is the bestest new addition Anthrax could ask for. The Anthrax and Black Label Society and Exodus tour is going to be one of the bestest tours ever.”

Monty Sewell was a Download to witness the crowds seemingly non-ending ring out of feedback for the band. “There’s an impounding appreciation for the band and a response from all corners I’ve never quite seen before,” she said.

A great summer for Heavy Metal in England also saw Exodus perform a Bloodstock. Despite the sweltering heat, the band and audience put 100% into it, the quintet showing just how it’s done, age having no barrier when you’re fired by Metal. Exodus were as sharp as they ever were.

“By the time closer Strike Of The Beast had caused a massive pit in front of the stage, it was game, set and match to the veterans,” MetalTalk declared.

“Exodus are super stoked to announce that we will be touring with Anthrax and Black Label Society,” guitarist Gary Holt said. “Touring with our long-time friends in Anthrax is always an epic good time, and now we get to tour with BLS and watch Zakk and company rip it up nightly too. Going to be awesome, and we will be bringing our unique brand of audio violence to every city. Let the Metal roll.”
