EXCLUSIVE: IRON MAIDEN UK TOUR POSTER LEAKED BUT IS IT REAL OR ONLY A DREAM?
18th September 2016: 1330GMT

A tour poster has appeared online displaying Iron Maiden's alleged 2017 UK tour dates and the jury is still out as to whether this is fake or genuine.

The poster, which you can see above, features eleven dates in the UK's largest cities from May 4th to May 27th. It runs in chronological order and shows Shinedown as the support band.

We've checked the official websites for every venue and none of them have any concerts scheduled for the date that the poster says Maiden are playing there.

Ticketmaster, notorious for leaking upcoming tour dates in order to raise anticipation, have absolutely nothing, neither do Live Nation and other major ticket outlets.

One major indicator that this poster could be a fake is the lack of band logo. The artwork appears to be original, as in not used on previous tour posters, so if this is a fake, someone has put in a big effort to create this latest incarnation of Eddie, however, the lack of Maiden logo means there is doubt.

Shinedown's name is also written in plain font, rather than their own specific styling, which casts further doubt on the poster's authenticity. Shinedown are currently touring the States with As Lions, the band fronted by Bruce Dickinson's son, Austin.

Bruce said quite specifically on the Download stage in June that Maiden would be undertaking a UK tour in 2017 but whether these are the dates the band will play remains to be seen when an official announcement is made.

What do you think? Real or fake? Have your say in the comments box below...
