Soho Dukes Drop A Stone’s Throw Featuring Spike & Dave ‘Bucket’ Colwell

Soho Dukes, London’s good time rockers, have released a video for A Stone’s Throw in advance of the new album, featuring special guests Spike from Quireboys and Dave ‘Bucket’ Colwell (Bad Company, Medicine Head).

Soho Dukes have built a respectable following, bringing their own brand of old-style rhythm and blues and vintage rock ‘n’ roll with a ’70s London pub rock flavour.

The band’s material is not just foot stompers and pounding beats, though, as their latest single A Stone’s Throw demonstrates.

This is an end-of-the-night, going through the emotional wringer song, a blues ‘n’ booze soaked ballad of distance and regret, enhanced with harmonica, saxophone and some lush backing vocals.

As if this was not enough, there are perfect guest appearances with lead vocals performed by Spike, whose Newcastle Brown Ale tempered voice lends itself to a stunning performance here, and the additional guitar and solo is handled by Bucket, who manages to drench every note in feeling.

The evocative video, directed by James Heron, can be seen here, bringing the song to life beautifully. You can almost smell the ale and angst coming through the screen.

Nighthawks, Acrobats and Everything Under the Moon, the third album from Soho Dukes, is released on 28 November 2025 on Cargo Records. Pre-orders are available from here.

Soho Dukes tour the UK in November and December as support to Quireboys.
