Canadian Black Metal cult Nocturnal Departure have unveiled Spiritual Cessation, the first track released from their forthcoming third full-length, Spiritual Cessation, due later this spring via Hells Headbangers.
The band made a strong impression on the international Black Metal underground with 2022’s Clandestine Theurgy, delivering a raw, late-’90s-leaning North American Black Metal attack with an acidic personality of its own.
Spiritual Cessation marks the first Nocturnal Departure recordings with new members Folterer (guitars) and Hexzul (drums). Spiritual Cessation is the band’s most focused, dynamic and professionally realised material to date, still rooted in proudly ancient Black Metal. The record features cover artwork by Greallach Arts.
Nocturnal Departure will also debut new material in May while touring alongside fellow Canadian acts Spectral Wound and Nachtlich.
