The Patriot, Crumlin, has been a live venue since 2001 and is an institution in the South Wales area. Home of the Patriot MC, this is a place that has undergone significant investment in recent times with an extension and new roof along with improved lighting and sound system installed during the pandemic, extending the capacity and viability of the site.
MetalTalk Venues – The Patriot, Home Of Rock. Crumlin.
With exciting plans to increase capacity and improve facilities further due to come to fruition in early 2024, it’s unsurprising that The Patriot – Home of Rock continues to attract bands that might otherwise play much larger venues.
In 2023, we saw the likes of Terrorvision, Gun, Chris Holmes, Florence Black, Blaze Bayley, Ginger Wildheart, Empyre, Paul Dianno and Phil Campbell And The Bastard Sons sell out the venue within hours.
Aligned with the local Steelhouse Festival that takes place every July mere miles from the venue and working closely with several local promoters, including Big Day Productions and Grumpy Clown Events, The Home of Rock has continued to flourish.
It’s not been plain sailing, though, and there are times when owner Angela Draycott has questioned her own sanity. Watching three people turn up for a show a couple of years ago was heartbreaking. But she has the support of the MC, her loyal staff and a hardcore of patrons who are there week after week, whether it be for a tribute band (Popestars, Ion Maiden and Rammlied are all lined up in 2024), a classic band like Sasquatch or Warrior Soul, or a classic band like Gun.
Owner Angela Draycott knows every visitor by name, greets new customers like old friends, and follows her own motto – “A Warm Welcome Awaits”.
It does indeed. Once you’ve visited The Home of Rock, it’s a given that you will be back time and time again.
Future shows can be seen in the list below with ticket links if you want to join the Home Of Rock for a gig. You can also find out more on our Patriot Venue Page or at home-of-rock.co.uk.
