Nashville-based country rock duo Lakeview dropped their high-octane cover of Hinder’s Lips Of An Angel AND announced three UK headline tour dates. It’s a really good time to be a Lakeview fan in the UK.
Lakeview’s cover of Lips Of An Angel has become a fan-favourite staple at their shows and is also one of the only cover songs they play live. The band explained: “Taking on the task of re-recording a hit song in the studio is a balancing act – we want to honour the original track while giving it the Lakeview edge.”
The cover injects fresh energy into the 2000s rock ballad and is a magnificent blend of their signature country rock edge, powerhouse vocals and modern country production. As is the magical nature of a Lakeview song, Lips Of An Angel is “primed to resonate with both country and rock fans alike.”
Jesse Denaro and Luke Healy are the Lakeview duo, known for bridging the rural grit of blue-collar country lyrics with the energy of an arena rock show. Lakeview’s sound is hard to nail down, from countrycore and country rock to blue-collar country Metalcore; their fresh take on country and Metal hits a desirable spot for many. “You can’t fake either of them [country or Metal]. It’s hard to cosplay as a country person or as a Metal person,” Jesse explained to MetalTalk, “The fans can really sniff it out.”
