Lakeview will play a free show at Barstool in Nashville tomorrow night (15 November). Jesse Denaro and Luke Healy will then jump on a plane to travel across the pond for three UK shows before the genre-blending country rock duo hits Germany and The Netherlands.
That ‘country rock’ tag is a bit misleading, as Denaro and Healey first connected over their blue-collar jobs and Metalcore roots, and this heavy edge to their music is far away from how that tag describes their music to most ears.
A self-titled 18-track debut album was released in September and featured the single Money Where Your Mouth Is. This was written by the Lakeview boys with Cody Quistad and is a collaboration with Gideon.
“This song is so incredibly special to us,” Jesse Denaro said. “We have been friends with Gideon since we were young, coming up in the Hardcore scene, so this is a really cool full-circle moment for us. We are excited to continue to push the boundaries of country music and be the first country band to release a single with a hardcore band.”
Their earlier single, Home Team, is pushing towards 3 million YouTube views, while their one album catalogue is hitting 115 million streams across all platforms.
With stats like that, you know it is going to be difficult to get tickets for these winter dates.
“It feels like we are making history,” Luke Healy said.
It is their authentic musicality and storytelling that have the fans lining up, while the Lakeview sound has the ears of the likes of Gideon and other peers already. “The heaviest band in country music and the countriest band in heavy music,” Luke says. “That is Lakeview.”
