Keith Wallen To Play New Solo Album Supporting Breaking Benjamin

Breaking Benjamin guitarist and friend of MetalTalk Keith Wallen will release his new solo album, Infinity Now, on 12 March 2024 via Rise Records. Wallen will be performing his new album as a supporting act on the upcoming tour with Breaking Benjamin. Tonight they play at Iron City, Birmingham, AL.

Wallen has shared the first single, Strings, from Infinity Now. “Strings is a shot of adrenaline and an earnest refusal to conform to any agenda other than your own free thought and peace of mind.”

Wallen released his debut solo EP, Allies, in 2014. “That was my first solo effort,” Keith Wallen told MetalTalk. “That was pretty much real, kind of raw and basic. Just me in my apartment recording some songs with piano and stuff. Nothing too crazy. But it was kind of an experiment. I’ve never done that before, but it was fun, and people still like those songs.”

A solo album, This World Or The Next, followed in 2021. “It was a fun process,” Wallen told us earlier. “There are some songs that were not quite right for Breaking Benjamin. There are times when we’re off the road, and honestly, I get antsy. I want to stay busy and keep writing. Just get out there and play as much as I can.”

Writing an autobiographical album and expressing your innermost thoughts by opening up to the public can be an exposing experience. “It’s terrifying,” Keith said. “It’s terrifying because you never know if someone is going to like your music.”

That proved to not be an issue. Wallen was over in the UK for solo shows in October 2022. His set was incredible, and he was very enthusiastic after his first solo show in the UK.

“It’s unbelievable,” he says, “It’s amazing. I love it. I came over here a couple of times with Breaking Benjamin in 2016/2017, and it was an absolutely amazing experience. I couldn’t wait to come back. I got the opportunity to come with my solo band, and I jumped at it. It was a fun first show, and if this is how all the shows are gonna go, it’s going to be a pretty amazing tour.”

Keith Wallen tour dates can be found here. Infinity Now can be pre-ordered from here.
