Iron Maiden drummer Nicko McBrain has announced the release of his autobiography, Hello Boys And Girls!, which will be published in hardback, ebook and audio formats on 22 October 2026 through Harper Nonfiction.
The autobiography promises a deeply personal and entertaining look at McBrain’s remarkable career, charting his rise from the competitive London music scene to becoming one of Heavy Metal’s most recognisable drummers.
Nicko McBrain joined Iron Maiden in 1982 after performing with acts including Streetwalkers, Pat Travers and Trust. Known for his powerful drumming style, charismatic stage presence and enduring influence on generations of drummers, McBrain became a defining force behind Iron Maiden’s sound during their most successful years.
Hello Boys And Girls! takes readers behind the scenes of life with Iron Maiden, featuring backstage stories, career highs and lows, studio memories and reflections on decades spent performing for fans worldwide.
McBrain said: “I’m very excited and honoured to be working with the wonderful HarperNonFiction team on my very own book full of lots of fun stories, anecdotes and of course my incredible experiences with some of the greatest musicians and performers from the 70s, 80s and beyond.”
The book is described as a front-row seat into one of Heavy Metal’s greatest careers, blending humour, honesty and personal insight from one of the genre’s most beloved musicians.

Nicko McBrain currently lives in Florida with his wife Rebecca, their cat Lola and two Yorkshire Terriers, Tigerlily and Tinkerbell.
