UK Heavy Metal occult rockers Green Lung have announced their long-awaited fourth album, Necropolitan, set for release on 11 September 2026 via Nuclear Blast Records. Described as a love letter to gothic London in riffs, Necropolitan explores themes of nature, the occult and the enduring spirit of traditional British Heavy Metal.
Produced, recorded and mixed by Tom Dalgety (Opeth, Ghost), the album was tracked at the legendary Rockfield Studios in Wales, following in the footsteps of Black Sabbath, Queen and Judas Priest.
The band aimed to capture their towering live sound with a rawer and heavier approach, stripping back layered arrangements and recording much of the album live in the studio. The result blends the soaring hooks of 2023’s This Heathen Land with a darker, heavier atmosphere inspired by the roots of classic British Metal.
Lead single Evil in this House arrives alongside a new music video inspired by 1970s haunted house cinema. The track combines crushing Sabbathian riffs with eerie synth passages, with the band describing it as “what would it sound like if a stoner Metal band carried out a paranormal investigation?”

Their albums Woodland Rites, Black Harvest and This Heathen Land have earned critical acclaim, with This Heathen Land reaching number one on the UK Official Rock and Metal Album Chart.
