Stoomfest 2024, the Heavy Psych Stoner Doom Music Festival, is set for 5-7 July 2024 at The Garage in Highbury Corner, with an after-party set for The Grace. With a musician-centred ethos, this has become one of the celebrated festivals in the heavy underground scene.
Now in its second year, the festival has expanded to three days, and 2024 will feature a carefully curated lineup with 21 bands, including Slomosa, Green Leaf, Dopelord, Acid Mammoth, El Altar del Holocausto, Hippie Death Cult, Moon Coven, Acid Throne, Margarita Witch Cult, Kanaan, and many more.
“As musicians, we were unimpressed with the lack of opportunities available to up-and-coming bands,” festival organisers Aitor Mendez, David Saunders and Alexis Humanes said.
They also quote “the lack of transparency in the domestic gigging scene and the frustration at not being able to see overseas bands on UK soil owing to the continued fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic” as further inspiration.
“The confluence of these issues prompted us to act,” they said, “and subsequently, StoomFest was born to arrest the decline and make a valid contribution to the UK gigging scene.
Stoomfest stands as a beacon of authenticity and pure passion for heavy psychedelic, stoner, and doom genres. They promise to celebrate heavy music’s unfiltered, uncompromising spirit with a lineup of artists representing the genre’s best.
“Stoomfest is more than just a festival,” they said. “It’s a movement. Rock music should be about more than just commercial success and chart-topping hits. It should be about pushing boundaries, breaking down barriers, and creating a community of like-minded individuals who share a love of heavy music.”
