Deep Purple Release Arrogant Boy As First Taste Of New Album SPLAT!

Deep Purple have released their brand-new single Arrogant Boy, offering fans the first taste of their forthcoming studio album SPLAT!, which arrives on 3 July 2026 via earMUSIC. The fast-paced Hard Rock track is accompanied by an official music video featuring the band performing and has already drawn comparisons to classic Deep Purple tracks such as Space Truckin’ and Highway Star.

Frontman Ian Gillan explained the inspiration behind the track. “This is the story of Billy who couldn’t read or write,” he said. “He is unhappy with things, so he speaks up, and finds a way of irritating, one way or another, the elite. And I can’t think of anything more fun than irritating the elite.”

SPLAT! marks another collaboration between Deep Purple and renowned producer Bob Ezrin, who also worked on the band’s recent chart-topping albums NOW What?!, inFinite, Whoosh! and =1. According to the band, the album explores the end of humanity not as destruction, but as transformation beyond physical existence.

The album will be available in multiple formats including CD, vinyl editions, deluxe box sets and digital formats. The limited box set includes exclusive live recordings from the Deep Purple Tour 2024 and a bonus 7-inch single featuring the track GUINNESIS.
