Philadelphia’s New Dawn Fades draw on the swagger of ’90s grunge, Sabbath’s fuzz and the grit of desert rock for Lores, a debut that sounds remarkably assured. Sunil Singh finds plenty of familiar influences, but the band makes them feel alive in the present.
