Alex has been writing for MetalTalk since 2020, having previously written for several long-lost websites and ‘zines and provided sleeve notes for a few albums.


The first album he bought with his own money was Iron Maiden’s Seventh Son of a Seventh Son. He attended his first gig a few years later, Izzy Stradlin’ & the Ju Ju Hounds at Middlesbrough Town Hall.

As well as writing about rock, Heavy Metal and punk, Alex has also been known to play guitar and bass guitar for a few bands, including The Eruptors, which gave him his surname, and more recently with Lunar78.
