YOSHIKI / Joined by Roger Taylor and Brian May on Japan NYE Show

Queen’s Roger Taylor and Brian May will join YOSHIKI and Sarah Brightman in a performance of ‘Endless Rain’ on Japan’s popular TV broadcast ‘Kohaku Uta Gassen’ on New Years Eve.

‘Endless Rain’ was composed by X Japan’s YOSHIKI, one of the most influential Japanese composers. The TV show is the most popular on Japanese TV which is watched by over 40% of the countries population.

Brian May said: ““This is such a beautiful project. I’m proud and honoured to be a part of it.

“Respect to Yoshiki!!! And wishing you all a great New Year.”

Sarah Brightman told us: “Red and White is such an extraordinary event and I feel very honoured to have been asked to join this collaborative effort with so many other talented artists.”

YOSHIKI told us: “I am very honoured and grateful to be performing ‘Endless Rain’ at Kohaku again this year. I wish I could go to Japan but with the global pandemic, I have remained in Los Angeles since February.

“Therefore, I will perform remotely this year. I feel honoured and grateful to be performing with Queen and Sarah Brightman and all those Japanese superstars.

“I hope that through the music we can give everyone courage. Please look forward to the performance.”

Roger Taylor and YOSHIKI co-wrote ‘Foreign Sand’ in 1994 which charted in the UK.

YOSHIKI will appear on the show remotely from L.A and this will mark the sixth consecutive performance and eleventh appearance in total, including eight performances with X Japan and three consecutive performances as a solo artist.
