Wax On Water / Maya Damaris and Steven Blessing release new electro-grunge single

From Camden, Wax On Water has released the single Seventh Son, taken from The Drip Part EP, due out on 12 November. All songs are written, performed and produced by lead singer Maya Damaris with Steven Blessing working his dark magic on guitar.

“Seventh Son is about how a relationship can turn from being something that makes you feel alive to making you feel less than,” says Damaris. “It’s about reclaiming yourself when you’re standing on the shadow side of love.”

Wax On Water released their debut album Procession in 2018. The positive reaction helped the band secure a distribution deal with The Orchard/Sony Music for their Record label, Howling Tempest Records.

The EP is a forerunner to the full album The Drip, which is set for release in May 2022. Drums for the album were by LA session drummer Garren Orr (YolkLore, Tennis System), and the record was mixed at MooseCat Studios, LA and mastered by Will Borza at the Grammy Award Winning Howie Weinberg Mastering Studios, LA.

A multi-faceted creative talent, Maya is a classically trained pianist and singer. She started Wax On Water in 2012 because she “wanted to create music that causes a reaction in people, in the same way, that the grunge, rock and industrial bands that I grew up loving did to me.”

As an alternative rock band, Wax On Water make a heady and unique ‘Electro-Grunge’ sound that is all their own. Pre-save Seventh Son at orcd.co/vxr5nzv

Wax On Water previously released their version of O’Jays track For The Love of Money, which you can watch below.
