TOP FIVE MUSIC FESTIVALS IN EUROPE IN 2020 THAT YOU SHOULD ATTEND

The summer festival season is over. However, as Europe is arguably the best place to be in for massive open-air experiences, now is a good time to plan for the next year. In 2020, hundreds of music festivals will take place all over the continent.

We have taken a look at them all and prepared a list of the top five festivals next summer. They’re all happening in different countries, though, so you’ll have to be mobile.

Top 5 European Music Festivals 2020

One thing is certain – if you want to get the most out of life this season – you can’t miss these events:

Roskilde

Sziget Festival
Tomorrowland

Mad Cool Festival
Hellfest Open Air

Hella Rock Festival

Scroll down for more details about each one.

1. Roskilde

We didn’t follow any particular order when compiling this list. However, if we did, Roskilde would still be at the top.

Roskilde festival is one of the best known and oldest festivals in Europe. It’s been taking place near Roskilde in Denmark since the 80s.

This year, it offers eight days of great music, an enormous amount of activities, projects and arts. Most importantly, it’s a non-profit event that donates all of its income to charities.

The upcoming line-up has not been announced yet, but you should take a look at the highlights from this year to get an idea of what’s coming:

The Cure
Travis Scot
Robyn

Jon Hopkins
Scarlet Pleasure
Bob Dylan
And almost 200 more acts…

Roskilde festival is scheduled from June 27th to July 4th.

2. Sziget Festival

Sziget may be a less-known event internationally, but it’s a big party nonetheless. It sells out every year and hundreds of thousands of people come to visit. In 2016, almost half a million people went to Budapest, Hungary, to be a part of it.

Lasting for seven days, Sziget is a celebration of many music styles on many themed stages. Plus, the festival includes many culture-related events and activities to bring people together.

So, take a break from sitting at home playing at PayPal casinos and buy a ticket now. In 2019, it offered top-notch performances by:

Franz Ferdinand
James Blake
Ed Sheeran
Foo Fighters
Florence + The Machine
Kodaline

Tove Lo
And many others…

The last date was 7th-13th August 2019, so it should take place around the same time in 2020.

3. Tomorrowland

If dance music is what makes you move, Tomorrowland is a must-visit party of hundreds of thousands of people. Fans of electronic music from all over the world come here to meet people and see their favourite bands from across the globe.

Although it’s relatively new (the first one took place in 2005), it’s already a hit. Due to the huge atendance, it’s split into two weekends. However, the tickets are often sold out very quickly despite that.

This year’s line-up included:

The Chainsmokers
Armin van Buuren
Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike
A$AP Rocky
David Gueta
Adam Beyer

The festival takes place in Boom, Belgium. In 2019, it took place on 19th–21st July as well as 26th–28th July.

4. Mad Cool Festival

Mad Cool Festival in Madrid, Spain is a new event for fans of all kinds of music and fun. It’s a city festival and one of the best at that. From the very first year, it has atracted the world’s most famous artists.

Although it isn’t as big as Primavera in Spain, it’s equally exciting and totally new. So, if you like to party like a Spanish, you must go to Mad Cool the next year.

Just take a look at the headliners from the last time and you won’t need any more persuasion from us:

The Cure
Bon Iver
The National
The Smashing Pumpkins
Years & Years
Empire Of The Sun
Iggy Pop
And dozens more…

It’s a three-day event which happened between July 11th and July 13th the last time.

5. Hellfest Open Air

For those who enjoy heavier musical acts, Hellfest Open Air is the absolute winner in 2020. Taking place in Clisson, France, it attracts Metalheads from all over Europe and beyond.

The visitors here have been rocking and enjoying other activities since 2006. While smaller than some other events we mentioned above, this festival is just as breath-taking as the rest.

The line-up in 2019 included top bands in the scene:

Sabaton

Kiss

Slayer

Gojira

ZZ Top
Dropkick Murphys

It started on 21st June 2019 and ended on the 23rd. A similar date is expected in 2020.
