Established in 1984, Candlemass have certainly had a big influence on the genre of Doom Metal. Since Johan Langquist returned to the fold in 2018, the five piece have been in resurgent form, first with the 2019 release ‘The Door to Doom’ and more recently gaining a Grammy nomination as well as winning a Swedish Grammy for ‘Best Hard Rock Act’.
We announced last week the impending release of the new EP ‘The Pendulum’, complete with the lyric video for the EP title track, and today the band have released a second track ‘Porcelain Skull’ which you can find below.
Leif Edling told MetalTalk “I think the video really captures the schizophrenic lyrics to the Porcelain Skull song. It is about the eternal battle with our dark selves. Avatarium did a fine version of it on their latest album but this one is rawer and harder, hits you right in the face!”
‘The Pendulum’ EP, containing unused tracks cut from the ‘The Door To Doom‘ recording sessions out on March 27th via Napalm Records.
