Download 2019 / What A Beautiful Day At Download

What a day it was yesterday at Download and it’s going to be another one to remember today with Slipknot headlining and Behemoth, Epica, Trivium, Skindred, Halestorm and Power Trip all playing the UK’s biggest Metal festival, along with many more superb acts.

It’s not raining at Donington Park but it is totally grey and overcast but whatever the weather decides to do, nothing will dampen the Download spirit as we head into another great Heavy Metal day.

Whitesnake were our highlight yesterday and David Coverdale was also delighted with his big day out, so much that he decided to do an impersonation of Ken Dodd for the cameras.

It was Whitesnake’s only scheduled UK date of their current tour but bands often announce a UK tour the week after playing Download so maybe some dates will be with us soon. This is no more than pure speculation on our part but if it happens, you did hear it here first.

“What a beautiful day for shoving one of Tommy Aldridge’s drumsticks down your trousers and saying ‘how’s that for a white snake?'”

While we were busy covering Download, Burning Witches released a new song, ‘Wings Of Steel’, the first Burning Witches music to feature new lead singer Laura Guldemond, who joined the band last week and made her live BW debut at the Sweden Rock Festival in Sölvesborg, Sweden last Saturday.

Hella Rock Festival

Laura was the vocalist of the Dutch symphonic Metal band Shadowrise and joined Burning Witches after the unexpected departure of Seraina Telli. Here’s ‘Wings Of Steel’.

We love covering big festivals here at MetalTalk and if you see our reporting team of Dany Jones and Kahmel Farahani at Download, please say “hello” and let them know how your Download is going and we may even include you in our next article.

Phil Soussan and Andrew Freeman of Last In Line, Brandon from Goodbye June and the Gin Annie boys all wanted to say “hello” yesterday so here they are with messages for you.

The Main Stage action is already underway, courtesy of Alien Weaponry who are leaving the masses in no doubt that today is going to be truly epic.
