DIAMOND HEAD OFFICIAL 2016 US TOUR DIARY

Diamond Head are about to set off on the longest North American tour in their illustrious and lengthy history. The first gig is on 2nd November in San Francisco and the last and twenty-eighth performance takes place on 4th December at a secret venue and location. All will be revealed in due course.

Formed in 1976 in Stourbridge, England, Diamond Head are one of the leading members of the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM) movement that stormed the country in the late 70s/early 80s and are acknowledged by Metallica, Megadeth and others as an important early influence.

Their first official release was the 1979 single, ‘Shoot Out The Lights’, a song that remains a staple of the live set today, along with many other classic Metal tracks including ‘The Prince’, ‘Borrowed Time’, ‘Lightning To The Nations’, ‘To Heaven From Hell’ and ‘Am I Evil?’ which Metallica included on their ‘Garage Inc.’ compilation, along with ‘It’s Electric’.

Diamond Head have played with everyone over the years including AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath and of course Metallica at Sonisphere 2010 where they performed ‘Am I Evil?’ along with the other bands in the ‘Big Four’, Megadeth, Anthrax and Slayer. Lars Ulrich said that there was “a pretty good chance that none of us would be here” without Brian Tatler before playing the song.

The seventh studio album, ‘Diamond Head’, was released on 22nd April 2016 and is the first album from the band to feature Rasmus Bom Andersen as lead vocalist. Since it’s release, Diamond Head have enjoyed a major resurgence in the UK and Europe and now America is about to get a taste of true, original British Heavy Metal from a band completely on top of their game.

This landmark tour is going to make serious waves and is sure to be full of, as Brian Tatler said on national British TV this weekend, “HEAVYOSITY!”
