Himalayas / Breakthrough debut album out this May

Fresh from their UK tour with Dirty Honey, Himalayas have released their new single, Leave This Place, taken from their debut album From Hell To Here, due on 5 May 2023 via Nettwerk. The band, who have over 46 million streams across Spotify alone, will play In It Together festival in Wales on 26 May.

“Leave This Place is a song about being stuck in a place that you never wanted to be,” frontman Joe Williams said. “You try your best to get out but always find yourself right back where you started. This song was written towards the tail end of a lockdown, and I think it was a huge piece of the puzzle of our debut album.”

“Even before I sent the Leave This Place demo to the rest of the band,” Williams said, “I knew it would translate to everyone straight away. Once we started playing it together, we knew it had to make the album.”

The Cardiff rockers, who also feature Mike Griffiths on lead guitar, bassist Louis Heaps and drummer James Goulbourn, went down a storm at the Norwich show with Dirty Honey.

“Touring with Dirty Honey was an amazing experience,” the band told MetalTalk. “It was great playing sold out venues and to play in front of a new audience who seem to really embrace us. Whenever we go on tour, we take something away from it, and we’ve become a better band every time we play to a live audience.”

The band have already received great support across radio from the likes of BBC Radio 1’s Nels Hylton and Kerrang! radio. They have also played at SXSW and Reading and Leeds Festivals, supporting Stereophonics and Manic Street Preachers, as well as headline gigs in London and Cardiff.

Both MetalTalk and the appreciative crowd in Norwich were engrossed by their show and given the success of the tracks already released, From Hell To Here certainly looks like a breakthrough album to keep your ears open for.
