EMBR’S DEBUT ‘1823’ DEDICATED TO UNKNOWN KIDNEY DONOR AGED 18-23

American Southern Gothic Doom quartet Embr have recently signed to New Heavy Sounds and have announced their debut album ‘1823’ will be released this 17 July. Today we bring you the first track from the album – ‘Your Burden’.

‘Your Burden’ is a great track. Mark Buchanan (guitar), Alan Light (bass) and Eric Bigelow (drums) are tight and heavy with great drop-tuned guitars and a grungy feel.

But vocalist Crystal Bigelow steals the show with an amazingly melancholic style, full of grace and power.

There is a significance behind the choice of the album name. Drummer (and Crystal’s husband) Eric Bigelow had been on the waiting list of a kidney replacement for around four years, before a donor was found – and unknown deceased woman between the age of 18 and 23.

The album is dedicated to the donor and the surgeons at Vanderbilt hospital in Nashville.
