Chris Holmes / Former W.A.S.P guitarist brings his 65 birthday party to the UK this June

Former W.A.S.P guitarist Chris Holmes brings his Mean Man 65 Tour to the UK in June 2023, a visit where he has invited us all along to help celebrate his 65th birthday. There are very special VIP tickets available for an exclusive pre-show birthday party for the show in Northampton on 25 June.

“Man, I had such a great time in the UK last November, and the fans are amazing,” Chris said. “They love me, and I love them, so I wanna celebrate my birthday by giving back to them and celebrating with them. See you on the road.”

Having played on the first four W.A.S.P studio albums, as well as 1987s Live… In The Raw, Holmes left the band in 1991.

During a recent VIP Experience at one of their 40 Years Live World Tour North American Shows, W.A.S.P leader Blackie Lawless spoke of his regret in losing drummer Tony Richards from the first W.A.S.P. and how it “made me sick to my stomach because I remembered how good we were.”

Lawless spoke of the amazing chemistry between himself, Tony and guitarists Chris Holmes and Randy Piper and how that left him covering bass duties. “The other two, I knew they were never gonna play bass,” he said. “So I thought, well, I got the chemistry of the guys to make it work. I’ll do it. You know, I’m a team player. I don’t care how the job gets done. Just get it done.”

Holmes rejoined W.A.S.P in 1995 and 2001 and played on the albums Kill FÂŁ@% Die and Helldorado.

The shows will consist of a mix of W.A.S.P classics as well as original material from Chirs’ latest album, Unbearable Influence. Holmes is joined by lead guitarist Oliver Tindall and Lex Gifford on bass, both from the band Wicked Jackals, and drummer Stephen Jackson from Heart Break Remedy, who has been Chris’ partner in crime for almost four years. Support is from Kaine.

Tickets go on sale on sale Friday, 10 February 2023, at 9 am, direct from the venue box offices.
