Bloodstock / Tickets selling fast. Halford and Fafara set for Twitch appearance

With 29 days until Bloodstock, tickets are flying, and it looks like the festival will sell out soon. Festival directors Vicky and Adam will go live at 6:30 pm tonight on Facebook Live to share the latest information and cover the COVID-19 safety measures for the event.

Bloodstock has implemented a number of safety measures around the arena and campsite. They also require proof of a negative NHS approved Lateral Flow Test taken within 36 hours of festival arrival. These tests can be ordered online free of charge.

Band Updates

On the band front, Dark Tranquility have to cancel, due to international issues, with Loathe taking their place on Friday’s Ronnie James Dio main stage. “We are thrilled to be performing at this year’s Bloodstock Festival for the first time,” frontman Erik Bickerstaff says, “and to be sharing the Main Stage on 13 August alongside an incredible and eclectic lineup of heavy artists.”

For the same reason, Bury Tomorrow are replaced by While She Sleeps. “Due to the band’s current lineup situation and despite best efforts, we are unfortunately unable to play Bloodstock this year,” Bury Tomorrow said. “We are truly gutted! We support the festival and hope everyone enjoys every minute of the weekend! We are, however, over the moon to confirm Bloodstock have invited us back next year, so we will see you all at Bloodstock 2022.”

Unleach The Archers have dropped out, replaced by Black Spiders, while Lotus Eater has split up, so Foetal Juice takes their place. “We are absolutely delighted to be playing Bloodstock this year,” Foetal Juice said. “It’s an incredible festival that we attend every year. The last time we played back in 2016 has still been the biggest show we have ever played. This year will absolutely kick that in the bollocks. We literally cannot wait to play this festival again.”

Metal 2 The Masses winners

Metal 2 The Masses scheme has seen ten bands announced from the heats around the country. Landing slots on Friday are extreme Metal five-piece, Terminal Sun, Essex victors Beyond Extinction, Somerset’s Sail, Manchester’s Beyond Salvation and Severenth from North Wales.

Saturday’s New Blood stage features Hitchin’s Black Atlas, from Norwich sludgers A Horse Called War, blackened death trio Ascaris take the Bristol area prize, Newcastle’s Groove Metal squad Desolation, while London’s victors Hawxx are also the winners of PRS’s Women Make Music award.

Standard weekend tickets for the extended five-day event remain under a temporary price freeze at £145 (+ booking fees). Child tickets and parking tickets for 2021’s event are available now at the ticket store, as well as a limited number of day tickets for Thrusday to Sunday. Wednesday remains exclusively for weekend ticket holders. VIP and campervan tickets for 2021 are sold out.
