night flight orchestra

Swedish classic/progressive rock supergroup The Night Flight Orchestra, who feature members of Soilwork and Arch Enemy, release their third studio album, 'Amber Galactic', on May 19th 2017 via Nuclear Blast and today we are delighted to be premiering a brand new video from the band.

Here the band discuss the artwork for 'Amber Galactic' and talk about their all time favourites. Here it is, for your enjoyment.

'Amber Galactic' will be available as limited edition digipak CD featuring an alternate cover art 2LP vinyl (black and violet sparkle) and will be available digitally via all known platforms.

The first track from the album, 'Gemini', was released last week in superb animated video form. The video was created by Elia Cristofoli, aka Solingo, who has worked for Volvo, Subaru and Canon in the past and also the compositors Francesco Mazzola and Andrea Vozzo of Peach Studio.

Vocalist Björn Strid said about the 'Gemini' video:

"Elia has done a terrific job capturing the vibe of this song with his amazing animations. He had one month to complete it and worked day and night. This video showcases a relationship drama set in space, with an epic twist.

"The colours and the characters are amazing and also very mysterious. My personal perception of the animation is a slight He-Man-goes-to-Russia feel (Or is it She-Ra??). Absolutely fantastic! Enjoy!"

Cristofoli added:

"When Björn asked me for a fully-cartoon music video in 80's style, with so many intergalactic babes destroying alien monsters, a joker grin drew on my face... I love 80s cartoons like He-Man, Ken Shiro, etc.

"Then David sent me the script with a storyboard. I read their story. These guys are out of control, I thought. Just as I like! I spent a few days studying the design of the characters and the spaceships, then I started drawing like a psychopath. I figure I was amused.

"I hope NFO fans like the video. Rock on!"

'Amber Galactic' opening track, 'Midnight Flyer', was released in late March and you can enjoy that right here. There are also three album trailers at the very bottom of this page too.

'Amber Galactic' is available for pre-order now on Ltd Digipack CD, Double Etched Vinyl, Ltd Double Etched Violet Sparkle Vinyl and Digital album right here.

monsters of rock

Monsters Of Rock In Full Flight is strictly limited to 300 worldwide and is available from 30th November but those ordering before 31st October will have their name published within a dedicated page in the book.

It's a deluxe 128 page hardback book in a metal flight case with a narrative by Jerry Bloom.

When promoter Paul Loasby put on the first Monsters Of Rock Festival in 1980 he could probably never have imagined it would become an annual event that would endure for so many years.

Featuring bands from the UK, Germany, Canada and USA, Loasby chose to stage the event at the Donington race circuit in the middle of England and it would prove to be a defining moment for many of the bands on the bill.

Not least for headliners Rainbow as it was the their last ever show to feature drum legend Cozy Powell. As it would happen it turned out to be the last for vocalist Graham Bonnet as well. For many of the other bands on the bill such as Scorpions, Judas Priest and Saxon, they were all on the ascendancy and would soon go on to even greater success.

Now in celebration of this first ever Monsters Of Rock Festival comes this hardback book full of glorious photos of the bands that took to the stage for that inaugural event including back stage shots. Most of these shots have not been published before which add to the uniqueness of this deluxe 128-page book which is packaged in its own flight case.

Also included are stories surrounding the event with tales and recollections from those who were there, including artists and fans alike. Each book will be signed by the author. The 300 will sell fast and definitely go on to become collector's items so order yours now right here to avoid disappointment.
