Californian powerhorse Metallers Leatherwolf will return to the UK this week for a five-date club tour performing at some very intimate venues, some of which are in towns rarely visited by major rock artists.

Leatherwolf, famed for their pioneering use of a 'Triple Axe Attack', last toured the UK in 1989 on the 'Street Ready' tour as special guests of Japanese rockers Vow Wow.

Originally formed in 1981, they split up in 1990 after releasing three powerful albums, the first being 'Endangered Species' in 1985. The band then signed to the major label Island in 1987 who released the eponymous 'Leatherwolf' and 'Street Ready' in 1989.

The band reunited in 1999 and released the live album 'Wide Open'. They currently comprise the long standing members, vocalist and guitarist Michael Olivieri and drummer Dean Roberts along with bassist Patrick Guyton and guitarist Rob Math. They are joined by new member Luke Man who completes the Triple Axe Attack.

They last released a studio album in 2007, 'New World Asylum'.

Michael Olivieri spoke about how new guitarist Luke Man joined the band.

"Unfortunately we've had to part ways with Joey Tafolla because he decided to join Graham Bonnet for a tour which collides with our preparations for these upcoming UK shows.

"Luckily, we found Luke who is not only an excellent player but happens to live close by and was eager to step in and step up.

"He's been busting his balls learning the songs and is sounding great! Actually, I went to see him with his band, Railgun, when they played the VIP Lounge at the Irom Maiden show out in San Bernardino and we jammed a couple of Leatherwolf songs.

"Luke nailed it so I know he'll do great with us. We look forward to unveiling the new line-up live and finally getting back over to Britain for the first time in almost thirty years."

Joining Leatherwolf on all five dates will be British hard melodic rock band The Darker My Horizon, who were formed in 2014 by former Sacred Heart guitarists Paul Stead and Mark Stephenson.

The Darker My Horizon have released two critically acclaimed albums, 'Acquiesce' in 2015 and 'No Superhero' a year later. The hard working band have just completed their third album.
