Berlin based rock overlords Kadavar's new album, 'Rough Times', will be released on September 29th via Nuclear Blast Records and here, drummer Tiger discusses the dark influences behind the new opus.

Kadavar recently released the third album trailer for 'Rough Times' and here, the band discuss how the songs came together, including how bassist Simon 'Dragon' Bouteloup ended up lending his French vocals to the last track on the album:

The band have also released the official video for 'Into The Wormhole' recently. Shot at Sphaèros Art Cave in Paris and directed by Luizo Vega (Studio V), the video concept was developed by drummer Tiger and features Aqua Nebula Oscillator vocalist David Sphaèros.

Tiger told us:

"The darkness that surrounds us when reality seems like a big black hole, those times when we try to turn around trying to escape the gravity of modern life looking for the shortcut to a more pleasant one, our biggest wish is that wormholes do exist and can take us to another dimension. A place where our thoughts are not poisoned and our souls can resonate freely.

"Playing music together has always been an attempt to enter this rare state of mind where everything is fine for just a second. While 'Into The Wormhole' is rather slow and possibly the heaviest song we have ever written, it philosophies about the shortcuts to enter the state of bliss at speed of light, the WORMHOLE.

"Our history with our french buddies in Aqua Nebula Oscillator goes far behind and each of us has tried in their own way to find salvation through music. This is why I've had the idea to ask singer and main brain David Sphaèros to open the doors to his infamous caves in the Parisian underground for us to collaborate for this video.

"Being able to get Luizo Vega on board as a director, who has just worked on 'Dracula's Not Dead' pushed the whole thing just in the right direction."

Watch the guys discuss building their own studio and the album's title here. Subtitles are available in the video settings:

Watch Lupus, Tiger and Dragon talk about the creation of the new album here:

And here is the official music video for 'Die Baby Die':

Singer and guitarist Lupus commented:

"I always wanted to do a trashy VHS styled green screen video. Milan from the band Rotor got my idea and we shot it on one day at Felsenkeller in Leipzig. As you can see it was great fun. Lots of layers, colors and fast cuts. A lot of chaos. I think it fits the song pretty well."

'Rough Times' can be pre-ordered on Limited Edition Bi-Colour and Coloured Vinyl from the Nuclear Blast UK store here and on Digipack CD or Black Vinyl from HMV here.

After announcing a string of summer shows, as well as an extensive European headline run with label mates Mantar and Death Alley, Kadavar have also revealed two UK dates for December 2017.

30th September: London - The Dome
1st October: Sheffield - HRH Doom vs. Stoner

Monsters Of Rock In Full Flight is strictly limited to 300 worldwide and is available from 30th November but those ordering before 31st October will have their name published within a dedicated page in the book.

It's a deluxe 128 page hardback book in a metal flight case with a narrative by Jerry Bloom.

When promoter Paul Loasby put on the first Monsters Of Rock Festival in 1980 he could probably never have imagined it would become an annual event that would endure for so many years.

Featuring bands from the UK, Germany, Canada and USA, Loasby chose to stage the event at the Donington race circuit in the middle of England and it would prove to be a defining moment for many of the bands on the bill.

Not least for headliners Rainbow as it was the their last ever show to feature drum legend Cozy Powell. As it would happen it turned out to be the last for vocalist Graham Bonnet as well. For many of the other bands on the bill such as Scorpions, Judas Priest and Saxon, they were all on the ascendancy and would soon go on to even greater success.

Now in celebration of this first ever Monsters Of Rock Festival comes this hardback book full of glorious photos of the bands that took to the stage for that inaugural event including back stage shots. Most of these shots have not been published before which add to the uniqueness of this deluxe 128-page book which is packaged in its own flight case.

Also included are stories surrounding the event with tales and recollections from those who were there, including artists and fans alike. Each book will be signed by the author. The 300 will sell fast and definitely go on to become collector's items so order yours now right here to avoid disappointment.
