They're one of the most successful all female Thrash/Metal bands of the last thirty years, in fact the Big Four - Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax - actually dedicated a whole Gothenburg Stadium show to them, but they've never released an album.

That is about to change however with the release of their debut opus, 'Breaking The Ice', which will be released on October 21st by GMR/PHD.

And today, the video for the title track, directed by Patric Ullaeus (In Flames, Hammerfall), is premiering right here on MetalTalk so break the ice with Ice Age and enjoy this...

The band, original members Sabrina Kihlstrand and Viktoria Larsson plus Linnea Landstedt on lead guitar and drummer André Holmquist (Manimal) collectively told us about 'Breaking The Ice'

"Its been a bloody long while! 'Breaking The Ice' is the title track from our upcoming debut album – we really hope you will enjoy this video as much as we did recording it. Thanks for watching!"

Ice Age were formed in Gothenburg, Sweden in January 1985 by Sabrina Kihlstrand and Pia Nyström and the first line-up was completed with Sabrina's sister, Helena, later replaced with bassist Viktoria Larsson, and Tina Strömberg behind the drums.

The band's early demos, 'Rock Solid', 'General Alert' (1987) and 'Untitled' (1988) saw their sound develop until 'Instant Justice' in 1989 saw them gain popularity, touring several countries and playing festivals including the Open Air in Lamone Switzerland as well as the UK's legendary Marquee Club.

Management problems and line-up changes were followed by the eventual implosion of the band in 1990 by which time they had sold thousands of copies of their demos.

Interest from fans worldwide remained strong however and in January 2015, Ice Age took to the stage for the first time in twenty-five years at the Gothenburg Sound festival to a rapturous welcome.

With five classic songs from the original demos re-recorded and five brand new songs, 'Breaking The Ice' is the album that many thought would never happen.

Look out for it's release on October 21st. Welcome to the Ice Age...
