German thrash originators Kreator looked so at home on Bloodstock's main stage on Saturday early evening that they could have moved in had they found space by rearranging their most impressive stage set to date.

The Gods of violence smiled down at Mille Petrozza and his colleagues as they carried on where he had left off last Saturday at Wacken with a throughly supercharged set that held the masses captive.

The setlist was almost the same as last Saturday but the setting was remarkably different, yet Kreator made the Bloodstock stage seem larger than the sum of its parts as they poured every ounce of their experience and expertise into their biggest UK show to date.

It turned out to be their best as well, a fact backed up by a confetti-covered audience who gave the Teutonic veterans the massive ovation they totally deserved.

Whether confetti fits in with Kreator's steely image and brutal songs is a matter for debate but the delighted crowd cared not as the full Metal confetti cannon reigned blood the length and breadth of the arena.

This weekend, there have been many bands who have brought theatrical elements to their sets in make-up, costumes and production, but Endeavour decided to dispense with the gimmicks and provide a real life Metal drama, instigated by guitarist Iain 'GT' Davies.

After a scorching Friday lunchtime set on the Sophie stage where new EP, 'Bring On The Rising Day', was ecstatically received by the large crowd, events took an unexpected turn.

Tour Manager Fede Valls told us all about it over a lunchtime beer:

"It was the end of the set, and I was ready at the back of the stage to take the usual crowd shot. Iain took off his guitar a bit too enthusiastically, and ended up ripping the headstock across his face and splitting his head open above the eye.

"No-one noticed at the time, not even him, and it was only when the band came off stage that I saw that Iain had blood pouring down his face and pooling in his beard. I took him straight over to the medical emergency tent where he received excellent assistance and got patched back up.

"While I was sitting there with him I realised that it was time for a scheduled band interview so I ended running between the tent, the backstage and the press area for the next hour or two trying to juggle everything and be on standby in case Iain had to go to hospital. Fortunately super glue and steri strips did the job and Iain lives to fight another day"

Endeavour will return, as will Iain who will be back at his day job with Onslaught with an additional battle scar to add to his collection.
