NIKKI STRINGFIELD OF THE IRON MAIDENS RELEASES 'HEART SHAPED BOX' ON ANNIVERSARY OF KURT COBAIN'S PASSING
5th April 2018
Nikki Stringfield of The Iron Maidens and Femme Fatale has released a cover of Nirvana's 'Heart Shaped Box' in tribute to Kurt Cobain, who passed away twenty-four years ago today, 5th April 1994.
Nikki tells us:
"Kurt was the reason I decided to start playing guitar when I was 14-years-old and continued to inspire me throughout the years.
"Most people don't realize the impact he had on me and my music so I wanted to finally cover one of my favorite Nirvana songs. I've been wanting to do this for a long time so I hope you all enjoy!"
The video was filmed at Metal Sanaz's Unfriendly Studios in Los Angeles and was directed by Diego Gonzales of Don Diego Productions and produced by Patrick Kennison of Heaven Below/Lita Ford.
Nikki has her own signature model guitar from Schecter Guitars and is also endorsed by GHS Strings and Seymour Duncan pickups.
Frances Bean Cobain, the daughter of Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love, has debuted her first-ever song and it contains these profound lyrics:
"I think I saw you when I was small I think I found you A penny for your good thoughts I think I found you Jesus hangs in your place on the cross All these hinges become unscrewed Heaven knows it was a cage on earth."
