UK EXCLUSIVE:ELUVEITIE TO UNVEIL NEW LINE-UP AT THEIR OWN FESTIVAL 9th December 2016
After a year of havoc, now there is an uprising as the new line-up of Eluveitie will soon be revealed.
Some people were on the pitch thinking it was all over back in May after Anna Murphy, Merlin Sutter and Ivo Henzi bade farewell but now we are all set for a dance of victory with what Chrigel Glanzmann is saying is the Swiss Celtic Folk Metallers strongest line-up ever.
Chrigel told us: "It's a great feeling to be complete again! We're full of zest for action and looking forward to enter the world's stages again!"
However, the full line-up will not be completely revealed until 5th January 2017.
Chrigel added: "It will be worth it to check the completely new designed website of the band (www.eluveitie.ch) from 15th December, because there will be a countdown to reveal the new line-up. New and old band members will be presented little by little with a wanted poster, videos and interviews.
"The complete new line-up will be unveiled on January 5th, one day before the band's own festival, Eluveitie & Friends, will take place at Z7, Pratteln, Switzerland. At this festival, Eluveitie will perform with their new line-up for the first time!"
Eluveitie & Friends will be a two day festival taking place on Friday 6th and Saturday 7th January 2017. Eluveitie will play both days and Sodom, Varg, Saltatio and Mortis and more will also perform.
It seems obvious that bassist Kay Brem and Krampus folk instrument player Matteo Sisti will be part of the new line-up as they have both been sharing the announcement this morning but there is silence from guitarist Jonas Wolf so far.
Long time violinist Nicole Ansperger returned to the band after a lengthy break earlier this year and Polish hurdy-gurdy player Michalina Malisz was recruited to fulfill Eluveitie's touring commitments after Anna, Ivo and Merlin departed.
Alain Ackermann took the drum stool and former Leaves' Eyes singer Liv Kristine also joined the party but Chrigel is not saying whether any of the aforementiond are to be made permanent members.
You may get some clues on the following Eisheilige Nächte 2016 live dates. Eisheilige Nächte translates to Ice Sacred Night and also appearing on these dates are Subway To Sally, Lord Of The Lost and Vroudenspil.
After the Eluveitie & Friends festival on 6th and 7th January, further dates will have been added to what will almost certainly shape up to be another monumental touring year for Eluveitie.
Eluveitie announced in September that they are working on their second acoustic album 'Evocation II' and that the plan was to start the studio recording at the end of this year and to release the album in Spring 2017.
