Iron Maiden have parted company with their amazing tour bus and will continue the Book Of Souls World Tour by traditional methods, transporting their twenty tons of gear by road with band and crew also now keeping their feet firmly on the ground for the remaining twenty-three dates of the tour.

Captain Bruce Dickinson piloted the enormous 747 for the final time this afternoon, Thursday 16th June 2016. Ed Force One landed in Gothenburg, Sweden in readiness for tomorrow night's gig at Ullevi Stadium. The Reykjavic based aircraft will now return to it's Iceland home before taking up Euro 2016 football duties.

Bruce gave a video interview just after landing and said: "I'll miss the big bird but the show must go on and it certainly will." You can watch the whole interview just below:

Maiden played the very first Paris Download Festival last Friday and flew from Paris to Castle Donington, Spiritual Home Of Heavy Metal Airport (really called East Midlands Airport) last Saturday lunchtime. We blew the whole month's alcohol budget by hiring a skilled team of flight experts and hugely expensive radar equipment to track the flight so we could bring you this report right here.

Fairly reasonable quality video footage of Maiden's performance at Download Paris last Friday has emerged and here's 'Book Of Souls'.

Our live reporting team at Download managed to somehow stay dry and sober enough to bring you our live report from last Sunday's Castle Donington headline appearance. The review is right here, along with some top quality photos of the band in action.

Mark Taylor had a fabulous day out in a stunning arena when he went to see Maiden at Berlin's Waldbühne Amphitheatre at the end of last month and you can read all about that performance right here.

Iron Maiden will undertake a full UK tour next year, as exclusively revealed by Bruce from the Download stage last Sunday.

Here's a fabulous Aerosmith pictorial document as seen through the lens of famed British photographer Tony Mottram. Tony photographed the band over many years for various magazines and now has a monthly column here on MetalTalk.

As was often the case, only one photo ever got published and in the fast moving world of weekly magazines sometimes entire sessions would be done and left undeveloped.

Tony started shooting Aerosmith from towards the end of the period with Jimmy Crespo and Rick Dufay and onwards through the return of original members Joe Perry and Brad Whitford that resulted in the albums 'Done With Mirrors', 'Permanent Vacation' and 'Pump'.

As well as shooting the band several times in England, this collection includes images from a session at the band's rehearsal room in Boston. Littered throughout is a mixture of live and off stage photos including a selection of photos taken at London's famous Marquee club when they were joined on stage by Jimmy Page.

This limited edition hardback book, presented in a flight case and printed on silk paper, is an opportunity to own a unique selection of photos, most of which have never seen the light of day before.

This unique item is presented in an aluminium flight case and will be published in late November. Earlybird subscribers who order by 31st October will have their name printed within a dedicated page in the book.
