Irish Pagan Metallers Primordial have announced the release of the first live album in their history. ‘Gods To The Godless (Live At Bang Your Head Festival Germany 2015)’ will see the light of day on November 25th.

Says AA Nemtheanga: “It might seem like an unusual move, a double live album. Especially within the scene we are from but the live album was once a staple of most band’s careers and something we all grew up with in our collection. Pouring over tour dates, gear information and killer live pics.

“If you love the band you will know what to expect, blood, guts and passion and believe us the double vinyl will look beautiful! If we’ve been in your orbit but you’ve never trained your sights on us properly this might be a good place to start as the sound is massive, the old songs have some added muscle and the planets aligned to make ‘Gods To The Godless’ perhaps a great introduction to the band. And for the record, not one single overdub. This is truly Live and Dangerous…”

‘Edge Of The Universe’, the new video from FM singer Steve Overland, has arrived. The song is taken from Steve’s new album ‘Contagious’ which came out last week on UK label Escape Music Ltd.

Hella Rock Festival

Steve originally teamed up with Escape Music to provide lead vocals for the Boston Tribute album (ESM 081), singing ‘Amanda’, and his other solo releases include ‘Break Away’, ‘Diamond Dealer’ and ‘Epic’

The Doomsday Kingdom, led by Candlemass virtuoso Leif Edling release their demo EP, ‘Never Machine’, on November 25th. Doomfather Leif comments: “I’m so happy that things are moving in the right direction for The Doomsday Kingdom. I’ve been putting my heart and soul into the new EP and album for about two-and-a-half years now. So it’s very relieving to finally see an end to all the work. Soon the world will hear the sound of the catacombs coming to life!

“I’m currently doing the final touches to the album. It is recorded, mixed and mastered, and has come out absolutely fantastic! Just a few graphic things left with photos, booklet etc. and then it will be ready. I’m very proud of this album! It sounds so good, therefore the visual aspect has to be just as great, when it sees the light of day in March next year! In the meantime, I hope people will enjoy the EP ‘Never Machine’. It’s rough, it’s raw, it’s direct! It gives a hint of what’s coming!”

The first lyric video for the track ‘The Sceptre’, dealing with an eternal war between the red and the black queen, is here now.

A Glimmer Of Hope Or Skin Or Light was a dance/theater/cabaret/glam-rock musical created by veteran choreographer/director KT Niehoff. Commissioned by Seattle’s ACT Theatre, the event was performed to sold out houses in 2010 and again in 2015. This soundtrack to that experience, set to be released on December 2nd 2016, emerged out of those haunted and humidly elegant performances – a “raucous, daunting thing” dripping with an intense appreciation for the moment.

Creators KT Niehoff and Ivory Smith (AKA) Eat the Apple began collaborating in 2010. They both have a long history of projects across artistic platforms, creating multi-dimensional experimental performance work. They share a similar background and are deeply moved by both the bizarre and traditional.

This soundtrack draws on Smith and Niehoff’s diverse history, creating an end result that is both theatrical and authentic in a raw way, an album that is both all over the map and totally cohesive. It’s intended to be consumed in one big bite. Here’s the video for ‘Houdini’.

Two time Grammy-nominated, festival-storming trio Highly Suspect, are returning with second album, ‘The Boy Who Died Wolf’ on November 18th. The LP from the Brooklyn alt-renegades follows two Top 10 Mainstream Rock hits, ‘Lydia’ and ‘Bloodfeather’ and two Grammy nominations (Best Rock Song, Best Rock Album) just one year from the release of their 300 Entertainment debut, 2015s ‘Mister Asylum’.

“The title ‘The Boy Who Died Wolf’, its like, we were so young and now we’re adults,” says Johnny Stevens (guitar/vocals). “I went through a lot of issues that I had to sort out and sometimes I cant believe that I’m alive. And now here I am traveling the world with my best
friends, making music, and living the exact dream that we had set out to accomplish a long time ago … We’re learning a different lifestyle. And it’s good, it’s positive. But it’s also hard to let go of everything that happened in the past.”

To celebrate the forthcoming Halloween, industrial Metallers The Silverblack have just released a cover version of ‘Guilty’ by Finnish rock band The Rasmus. The song can be streamed and downloaded for free from the band’s official SoundCloud page.

The Silverblack have recently released a reworked version of their first album entitled ‘The Silverblack’ worldwide via Sliptrick Records, alongside an expanded version of the same album featuring previously unreleased bonus material via for the Japanese market.

French rockers BlackRain are pleased to announce the release of their brand new video ‘Run Tiger Run’, taken from the album ‘Released’, out earlier this year via UDR Music.

Matthieu De La Roche told us: “The idea behind this video was to do a collaboration with Remi Gaillard and Gilles Lartigot as we’ve recently discovered we share the same concerns in animal welfare. It was great fun to create a video that sees the mutual collaboration of an internet sensation, a writer and musicians. Activists have much more to tell about the subject and possibly in a much better way we could ever do. We just wanted to express in our own way our feelings about the drama that appears every day in this world: 150 000 000 000 animals are killed just for food each year. Can you imagine that?”

Ghost Bath have entered the recording studio once again with producer Josh Schroeder, to record the follow up to their critically acclaimed ‘Moonlover’ release. Vocalist and mastermind, Nameless, has released the following statement regarding the as-of-yet-untitled-album’s musical direction:

“My own description of my approach for this album is better described in a quote I read recently in Herman Melville’s ‘Moby Dick’.”

“To enjoy bodily warmth, some small part of you must be cold, for there is no quality in this world that is not what it is merely by contrast. Nothing exists in itself. If you flatter yourself that you are all over comfortable, and have been so a long time, then you cannot be said to be comfortable any more. For this reason a sleeping apartment should never be furnished with a fire, which is one of the luxurious discomforts of the rich. For the height of this sort of deliciousness is to have nothing but the blanket between you and your snugness and the cold of the outer air. Then there you lie like the one warm spark in the heart of an arctic crystal.

“Contrast is what creates stronger feeling and emotion in this album. A joyful ecstatic experience will further the potency of depression, drenched in the surrealism of the cosmos and afterlife.”

A late spring 2017 release is tentatively expected via Nuclear Blast Entertainment. More details to be revealed shortly.

‘Desolation Angels’ is the theme song written, arranged and orchestrated by Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Drummer and founding member of the original Alice Cooper group, Neal Smith, for the movie ‘Desolation Angels/Rise Of The BOAS’. Neal also stars in the lead role as the ruthless Russian mob boss, Yury Streinkov.

Jayson Byrd, a photographer who has shot everyone from Paul Newman to Bob Dylan to Edith Stapleton and Morris Carnovsky, has completed this full-length feature film in Fairfield County with no budget, an incredible achievement. Neal Smith is among the 40-plus actors in the film.

In the film a group of mercenaries are hired by a covert government agency to disrupt the relationship between the Russian mob and the Mexican drug cartels. The movie is old style B&W and is two hours in length. Here’s the movie trailer and Neal’s video for the song ‘Desolation Angels’.

Montreal, QC prog Metallers Fractal Cypher released their debut album ‘The Human Paradox’ earlier this month and here’s the video for ‘Imminent Extinction’. The album was produced by Chris Donaldson (Cryptopsy, The Agonist, Beyond Creation, Neuraxis) and features nine songs.

Hamburg based five-piece sludge and stoner Metallers High Fighter have just returned from a quick tour with Elder, a busy festival summer with live appearances at Summer Breeze Festival, Desertfest Berlin, Up in Smoke and alongside many more shows and tours around Europe in 2016, with their first and critically acclaimed debut album ‘Scars & Crosses’, which came out this summer on Svart Records and now they have just released a brand new video for the album track ‘Darkest Days’.

Mona Miluski, vocalist of the band, explains: “I see this new video for ‘Darkest Days’ as some cool and trippin’ summary of two more than amazing years of our short and young band history already. Our bassist Constantin again did such great job on the video! He edited it all by himself and it’s again a pure do-it-yourself production. We used several live footage from our shows the past two years, and took some behind the scenes from tours and when we’ve been on the road…

“It’s a very dark track and video but also visually weird, wild and psychedelic on the other hand. But that’s what you get with High Fighter and on our album ‘Scars & Crosses’ in general: It’s not an easy-listening record, it’s more of a trip, and there’s also a lot of pain and beauty happening to the same time. Chosing the track ‘Darkest Days’ for a new video of High Fighter has only been a matter of course, soundwise, we all dig that song, from the lyrics’ perspective and its representation of our album vibe, but then this heavy contrast which comes with the visual footage of two awesome years with High Fighter. Seems we love contrasts!”

Sonic Syndicate are finally back after a period of silence. The successful band from Falkenberg, Sweden was unexpectedly dropped by the record label Nuclear Blast and were forced reconsider their situation. Sonic Syndicate just released a brand new video, ‘Confessions’, which you can see below. The new album, ‘Confessions’, is out now via Despotz Records and you can read our full interviw with Nathan Biggs right here.

Century Media Records have announced that they have joined forces with Swedish post punk artist Nicole SabounĂ© and her debut full length album, ‘Miman’, will be released worldwide, and for the first time outside of Scandinavia, with a newly recorded bonus track (a cover version of Madonna’s ‘Frozen’) on January 6th 2017. To celebrate the news, Nicole has launched a new video for the track ‘Bleeding Faster’ and here it is.

Argentina’s Scumblack’s first album ‘Ceocracy’, produced entirely by the band in La nave de Oseberg studios in Buenos Aires, is out now on all known digital platforms. Matias Castellano has now joined the band as new guitarist, as well as new drummer Santiago Sauza and new the video for ‘Brainess’ is available right here.

Ottawa symphonic blackened Death Metallers Endemise new album ‘Anathema’ is out today, Friday 28th October. It was produced by Endemise guitarist Dale Sauve along with Ken Sorceron (Abigail Williams) and features eight blistering tracks. Endemise’s live brutality has also seen the band as support, on the Ottawa Metal scene, for Abigail Williams, Cattle Decapitation, Alestorm, Battlecross, Beneath The Massacre, Crimson Shadows and Vesperia. So far two singles have been released, ‘Come Serene Dark’ and ‘Anathema’ and here they are.

Entombed AD have released a horrifying new video for the title track off their latest album ‘Dead Dawn’ which is out now via Century Media Records.

Guitarist Nico Elgstrand comments on the video: “Finally a serious video without the usual nonsense often associated with Metal these days. This one has depth and a very important message that we think is overlooked in today’s media climate. Anyone with half a brain will stop with whatever they’re doing and realize that we must take a stand against these injust accusations that Metal is for stupid people, that’s simply not true and this video we think portrayed it beautifully!

“Enjoy this fine release that will leave you enchanted and content that you’re a thinking individual with exquisite taste and that Entombed AD is telling it like it is, uncensored and amazingly with superior subtlety and finesse!!”
