ALESTORM REVEAL TITLE, TRACK LISTING & RELEASE DATES OF THEIR UPCOMING ALBUM
20 April 2014

Captain Christopher Bowes and his pirate crew of the ship Alestorm will release their highly anticipated fourth album later this summer.

'Sunset On The Golden Age' will be released on August 1st by Napalm Records.

This release is shaping up to be very tasty indeed - read Chris's comments about the album and artwork below.

Article continues below...

'Sunset On The Golden Age tracklist
1 - Walk the Plank
2 - Drink
3 - Magnetic North
4 - 1741 (The Battle of Cartagena)
5 - Mead from Hell
6 - Surf Squid Warfare
7 - Quest for Ships
8 - Wooden Leg!
9 - Hangover
10 - Sunset on the Golden Age

"Wow! Songtitles! Exclamation marks! We'll be telling you a bit more about the individual tracks sometime soon. What we will say for now, is that "Hangover" is a cover of the dance-pop anthem by Taio Cruz and Flo Rida. It works...trust me!

Anyway back to the good stuff. Check out the artwork for the album...how good is that? This rad painting was once again done by the very talented Ingo Römling, who has handled all of our previous album covers. It features a bunch of pirate ships doing what they do best: shooting the crap out of each other. Cannons are cool. Also, the sky is red, as if to imply it's sunset. See what we did there?

Of course the title of the album is a reference to "The Golden Age of Piracy", which was a period roughly between the years 1680-1720 (depending on who you ask), during which time all the famous pirates you've probably heard of were doing their thing in the Caribbean. Stealing treasure, kicking the ass of the British Navy, plundering wenches, and so forth. Like all good things, this age had to come to an end, and so we've used that as a general theme for this album. There's also songs about drinking and partying too.

In the coming weeks and months we'll be giving you more details about the album, including preorder information, special editions, and other stuff...and we'll maybe let you all hear a song if you're good boys and girls! Until then, stay piratical!

Cheers
Chris - Alestorm"

Alestorm will be playing at Sonisphere - July 4th to 6th at Knebworth.

NOW AEROSMITH FANS CAN HAVE THEIR NAME IN FUTURE COLLECTOR'S ITEM

aerosmith

Here's a fabulous Aerosmith pictorial document as seen through the lens of famed British photographer Tony Mottram. Tony photographed the band over many years for various magazines and now has a monthly column here on MetalTalk.

As was often the case, only one photo ever got published and in the fast moving world of weekly magazines sometimes entire sessions would be done and left undeveloped.

Tony started shooting Aerosmith from towards the end of the period with Jimmy Crespo and Rick Dufay and onwards through the return of original members Joe Perry and Brad Whitford that resulted in the albums 'Done With Mirrors', 'Permanent Vacation' and 'Pump'.

As well as shooting the band several times in England, this collection includes images from a session at the band's rehearsal room in Boston. Littered throughout is a mixture of live and off stage photos including a selection of photos taken at London's famous Marquee club when they were joined on stage by Jimmy Page.

This limited edition hardback book, presented in a flight case and printed on silk paper, is an opportunity to own a unique selection of photos, most of which have never seen the light of day before.
