||BREAKING NEWS: LES-FEST ANNOUNCE SIX NEW BANDS
28 March 2014
Award winning festival Les-Fest (Scotlands only Rock and Metal festival) are pleased to announce another six bands for the festival which is being held at its new location, Wiston Lodge near Lanark at the end of June, including the Sunday headliner for the acoustic stage.
Irish Power Trio led by former Mama's Boys and Celtus guitarist/violinist and singer/songwriter Pat McManus and his Band are set to headline the acoustic stage on the Sunday night.
Les-Fest founder Dave Ritchie told us "I was always a big Mama's Boys and Pat fan, but this came out of the blue, when one of our associates in London confirmed his availability. It was an opportunity not to be missed so we grabbed it with both hands, simply put he is unmissable".

They will be joined on that stage by Glasgow based singer songwriter Black and White Boy, a breath of fresh air for the Glasgow music scene. Black and White Boy is actually twenty nine year old Ayrshire native Andrew Nicol who, with a little from his friends, plays acoustic/folk/pop which is heavily influenced by the likes of Neil Finn, Ryan Adams and Elliott Smith.
Another addition to the second stage bill is local band Static Rock - a quintet who met at a music course in a local college, and have since attempted to merge their music tastes together and aim to portray a modern take on classic rock.
Moving towards the Saturday Main Stage the Les-Fest organisers are pleased to announce London based When Our Time Comes will also play the festival this year. Formed in 2011, the band are a new and exciting five piece Metal band that combine polyrhythmic grooves of a progressive nature with brutal breakdowns of the metal-core movement. "This brings something a little different to the Saturday and reinforces our commitment to new exciting music" commented Dave Ritchie.
Coming closer to home, the festival organisers have also confirmed that Edinburgh based Dog Tired will also make an appearance on the Main Stage. As Dave explains, "if you like a bit of Pantera, Down or Slayer (then) these are the guys for you! They have a tough, relevant and very modern sound".
The final band in this announcement are Glasgow based What's The Damage?! Commented Dave, "This was a band that impressed us at one of last years showcase gigs, so really pleased to add them to the bill and to show our continued support for awesome, local, quality music"
With nearly fifty bands booked and the new site looking to make Les-Fest bigger and better in it's third year, there's lots to look forward to so if you don't have your tickets, you'd better move fast.
