Award-winning Prog rockers Marillion will release their first commercial Christmas single this Sunday, with their version of 'Carol of the Bells' as a charity fundraiser.
For years, the band have sent members of their fan club a Christmas message, complete with seasonal songs and exclusive tracks and videos, but this is the first time that a track has been offered for wider purchase.

The track was recorded at Racket Records, the band's Buckinghamshire base, and the progged-up track will be accompanied by a light-hearted video.
The decision was taken by the band after the track was so well received by the fans on this year's club DVD that an MP3 download was requested.
All proceeds will go to the Mat Elworthy fund, raising money via BrainsTrust to provide life-saving treatment for a father of two who has a brain tumour and is unable to receive the treatment he needs on the NHS. Details can be found at http://www.justgiving.com/themattelworthyfund.
Marillion won Band of the Year at 2013's Progressive Music Awards hosted by Classic Rock magazine's sister title Prog Magazine and were nominated in two other categories. The recent run of live dates have shown that the band remain on top form.
