The announcement from Sweden Rock Festival read:
"SRF introduces a blissful occasion for Iron Maiden aficionados (on) Wednesday June 4. Paul Di'Anno sang on the band's two first albums "Iron Maiden" (1980) and "Killers" (1981) - Heavy Metal history in spades. He has since moved on to such acts as Praying Mantis and Killers. Blaze Bayley, in turn, was drafted from Wolfsbane to front Iron Maiden in the 90s, more specifically on the dark and ominous-sounding "The X Factor" (1995) and "Virtual XI" (1998). He is nowadays a highly respected solo artist.
"This concert, featuring the two Iron Maiden singers on the same stage, will be the first of its kind in Scandinavia - and the last. Paul Di'Anno has announced his retirement from music after 2014, making this SRF event his farewell to his Nordic fans. Another reason for every true Iron Maiden fan to be there to salute two bona fide Heavy Metal heroes."
Previously, Dianno had said that his retirement would be in 2013, and this year has seen nearly a hundred gigs scheduled.
