Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler's performance of the American National Anthem has come under fire from sports fans after he sang it in at an American football match in Foxborough, Massachusetts on Sunday.
Dressed in a sparkling New England Patriots scarf, he strained to hit the high notes and the crowd erupted with a mixture of boos and cheers. US sports website said the moment "will go down as one of those horrible celebrity renditions".

And Jason Whitlock, columnist for FOXsports, compared it to Janet Jackson's infamus wardrobe malfunction at the 2004 Superbowl opening, tweeting: "Steven Tyler far more obscene than Janet Jackson's t***y."
But fans defended the performance of the star on the web, one saying: "It's Steven Tyler. How else is he supposed to sing? That's how he's been singing for decades."
The New England Patriots landed a 23-20 win over the Baltimore Ravens.
