Van Halen played their first live show since 2008 yesterday, (Thursday 5th January) at the tiny Cafe Wha? nightclub in Manhattan's Greenwich Village. The show at the 250-person venue was the band's first since their hugely successful 2007/2008 reunion trek with original singer David Lee Roth.

The Van Halen News Desk said that they "are almost speechless from attending the once-in-a-lifetime event of witnessing Van Halen perform at the intimate Cafe Wha? in New York."

They'll be posting their writeup, along with photos and videos in three parts – Friday night, Saturday and Sunday (US time).
